Head to the Heart

H2H is our confirmation program for students in grades 7:30-9 on Wednesday evenings. Students are divided into "guide groups" with 5-7 kids and an adult parent guide. We cover the basics of Luther's Small Catechism. This includes the Apostle's Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and the Ten Commandments. We grow in faith through service, learning, and fellowship. We begin our large group learning with singing, skits, games, along with the Pastor's teaching. We then break out into our small guide groups for discussion, fellowship and prayer. We gather again in large group for a quiet wrap up and prayer journey. Also part of our system is servant and fellowship events. Guide groups spread out across our city to such places as nursing homes, food banks, homeless shelters to perform service in the name of the Lord. Fellowship events are meant to foster relationships within the small groups. Groups decide where to meet and what to do for fun. We believe that building relationships is what will keep our kids coming back after confirmation.
