One Church With Two Locations

Women’s Ministry

The purpose of Women’s Ministry at Faith Lutheran Church and Journey in Faith is to support women in developing and sharing their gifts, so they may feel the blessing of serving others and bring glory to God in the church, the community, and beyond.

The Women of Faith have sponsored luncheons/brunches, seminars, book club, retreats, and extended educational opportunities for all women, extending out into the community.

Women’s Circles

Small groups of women meet monthly for Bible studies. Come to learn, care, and pray for one another and for food and fellowship.

  • Dorcas - Second Tuesday at 7:00pm—meets in individual homes — see church calendar for location.
  • Mary - Last Tuesday at 2:00pm, Faith Campus
  • Rachel - Last Tuesday at 7:00pm, Faith Campus
  • Ruth – Second Thursday at 7:00 pm (last Tuesday at 3:00pm during winter months), Faith Campus

Serving for Funerals

Church members are encouraged to volunteer for serving lunch or providing bars for funerals held at Faith Lutheran. This is a great opportunity to honor the families and friends during their time of loss and provide a time for fellowship following the funeral.  This is an important ministry, as often the first steps in healing take place in the sharing of memories that occur during this fellowship.

Donations of food – An opportunity to help by providing bars for the funeral.

Designated monthly callers – Two people take one month and arrange for donations of bars for funerals during that month.

Quilters

God’s work happens through our hands as we gather to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief and local needs. Quilters meet one week in the spring, and one week in the fall. No experience is necessary.  Check the calendar for quilting dates.

The Piecemakers Quilting Group meets every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the west half of the Faith Lutheran Fellowship Hall. Experienced quilters and quilter wanna-bes are encouraged to stop in and join the fellowship. This group organizes the spring and fall quilting events mentioned above.

Sacraments Ministry Team

The Sacraments Ministry Team bakes the bread and prepares the non-alcoholic wine for Holy Communion. They also set up for Baptisms, making sure there is clean water, a candle and cloth for every person being baptized. Those who enjoy serving behind the scenes find this team is a great way for them to serve the Lord and his people.

Lutefisk and Meatball Supper

The Annual Lutefisk and Meatball Supper is a definitely NOT a women only activity.  Opportunities abound for those willing to share their God-given gifts by cooking, baking, serving, hostessing and cleaning-up. The food, friends, faith and fellowship make this an event to enjoy and remember whether you like lutefisk or not.

Church Library

A group of people working to maintain and promote the library by acquiring/organizing books and encouraging people to use the resources available to them. The Fireside Library is located in the east wing of the building off the hallway connecting the Total Life Center and Worship Center. Library Coordinator is Bette Hildebrand.
